Codes of Practice
All qualified or student member practitioners strictly observe
the following qualification rules:
- To behave in a strictly professional manner towards clients
and fellow practitioners, refraining from any conduct that
could bring themselves or their profession into dispute.
- Recognition of any limitations in their own professional
competence and not to give advice and treatment in areas
outside those covered by their professional qualifications.
- Student members are not permitted to advertise themselves
as acupuncturists until fully qualified, but they may advertise
that they are students in training doing acupuncture case
studies approved by the Bodyharmonics centre. They must
make clear to all those who are the subjects of case studies
that they are practising only with student status.
- To never treat members of the public without appropriate
indemnity insurance cover.
- Safeguard at all times the client's right to total confidentiality
and avoid using a position of trust to exploit clients financially,
sexually or in any other way.
- To keep and maintain accurate records and case studies
for all patients as regards the current laws of Data Protection.
- Those under the age of 16 years may only be treated with
the parent or guardian in the room and with their written
permission.
- Never discriminate against any individual on the basis
of religion, gender, race, sexual orientation or age.
